Displays and sales by Australia’s finest toolmakers and specialist timber suppliers in the historic Sturt School for Wood, including Colen Clenton, HNT Gordon Classic Planes, Japanese Tools, Gifkins Dovetail, J.D. Woodworm, Vesper Tools, Allwood Specialty Timbers, Dunstone Design and Keith Houston.
Daily woodwork demonstrations conducted by Australia's leading furniture makers. (See schedule below)

The Beta Stool Kit

designed to be completely made 
using only hand tools 
Evan is a designer, craftsman, educator and writer. Evan is a 2001 Churchill Fellow in contemporary chair design and manufacture. He has established his showroom in Canberra with a workshop in Queanbeyan and produces a range of contemporary studio furniture.
     
12noon Neil Erasmus
Half blind dovetails
Neil is descended from generations of furniture makers and as well as making and teaching for over 30 years, he is a regular, contributing editor for the Australian Wood Review magazine. Neil and his wife Pam teach throughout Australia, in New Zealand and the USA and have won prestigious awards for their designs.
     
2.30pm Col Hosie
Making a trinket box with the 
Gifkins Dovetail jig

Col Hosie and his partner Pam Corrigan purchased Gifkins Dovetail from the jig inventor Roger Gifkins in 2011. Col has an extensive background in teaching, and arts and crafts, and is also an accomplished wood turner.

12.30pm Phoebe Everill
Steam Bending
Phoebe graduated from the Sturt School for Wood in 2011 and has since set up her own successful practice and wood school in rural Victoria. Phoebe has taught a number of courses here, and is tutor for Term 1 in the 2016 full time course.
     
2.30pm Ruth Thompson
Scroll saw marquetry

Ruth fulfilled a 20-year dream when she graduated from the Sturt School for Wood in 2015. With a 35- year long teaching career, Ruth has had a long association with furniture making and digital technologies.
