06 Non-toxic printmaking with Seraphina Martin

Explore non-toxic printmaking techniques including drypoint, monoprint and solar plate etching. Experiment with printing processes including à la poupée, Chine-collé and viscosity printing – using large rollers to create multi-layered effect, to produce a stunning print portfolio. Suitable for beginners who will find instant results and experienced print enthusiasts who can extend their skills. There will be opportunities to critique and explore the aesthetic values of your evolving fine art prints.
Seraphina Martin studied printmaking at the National Art School in Paris. Seraphina has taught at various universities and community workshops and has been developing the non-toxic printmaking technique using solar plate etching since 1994. She has exhibited widely and is represented in public and private collections in Australia and overseas.

Seraphina studied the Viscosity colour printing at the Atelier 17 in Paris under the notorious Master printer William Hayter. She then trained with American printmaker Dan Welden who initiated the non toxic printmaking technique called Solar Plate Etching.
